And if you're looking at used equipment, the game changes: you're checking hour meters, undercarriage wear, and maintenance history instead of factory tolerances. That's not a knock on used machines—it's a different kind of verification.

Bottom line: the machine is only as good as the spec you trust. The Komatsu brand builds reliable gear, but reliability doesn't mean you skip the paperwork. Check the numbers, ask for the data, and when you're on a crane job, respect the load chart. That's how you avoid being a statistic.
