Here's where brochure numbers mislead people the most. A fully automatic brick making machine might be rated at 5,000 blocks per shift. And it can hit that—under ideal conditions, with a mixer that never delays and an operator who doesn't slow down.
In real production, I advise clients to plan on 60–75% of rated output in the first year. The bottleneck is almost never the machine. It's curing space, pallet stock, or the mixer feeding the machine late.
People think their machine is too small when the real problem is that the curing area only holds half a day of production. If the machine stops for two hours, that backup stops the whole plant.
